Christmas Eve….
The past 24 days have been a journey with hopefully pleasant surprises and wonders. As this day draws to a close in great anticipation of presents, family, and friends, use your silent practice tonight to remember the gifts of the season. Be thankful and have a beautiful holiday. Peace and Blessings.
Evening reflection
Winter offers a time of slowing down and gathering together. Today is slowly winding down so I offer an invitation to sit quietly this afternoon and evening and reflect on the day and invite the joy of having a quiet moment to connect with yourself before embarking on the evening activities in preparation for Christmas.
Small, yet powerful
The season of gift giving is upon us. Prepare your heart for the awe and joy of the season by looking at the little things and discover their power. Humble is the heart in our silent practice today.
Winter solstice
The first day of winter--the shortest day of the year, and the longest night of the year. Each day following we have more light. I like to think that the longest night produced the brightest star that led the wise men to the baby in the manger. Let your silence today create the light that may draw others to you.
Ray of light
In our silent practice today, continue to move through the challenges, disruptions, obligations, and the busy-ness and focus on the beauty of the light that peaks through. Enjoy its warmth.
Much needed rest
It’s been a busy week I’m sure. Let’s take this day to rest and empty ourselves. Relish in the quiet of our silence today before moving forward. Create space for the weekend’s activity. Peace and blessings.
Everything you need
As we busy ourselves for festive celebratory occasions, simplicity is key. You have everything you need. In our silent practice today, let us be kind to ourselves knowing that all we need we have.
Embrace silence
We have been worried and distracted by many things this past year. Embrace your silent practice today as we move deeper into the Advent season. Breathe and slow down and put the worries and distractions behind you.
Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things. Luke 10:41
Strength training
Do you feel that you were stronger yesterday than you are today? Sometimes that happens. Have you found yourself thinking, ‘I’ve done this before, why is it so hard now?’ Perhaps there was something that was missed in exercising that physical, mental, cognitive, or spiritual muscle that we need to be reminded of. Reflect and be silent in the strength you have today….stronger will return eventually—lighten the weight and continue the journey.
Release and revive
Reflect on the lessons learned and lessons taught this past week. In our silence today let us appreciate the experiences with thanksgiving to make way for new energy and strength.
There’s always a gift
Gifts come in all sizes and often hold special surprises. Let our silence be our gift today and let it surprise us. It is a gift that we are invited to open, ponder, enjoy, and be delighted by. In the end, hopefully, we will realize it was something we always needed.
The journey
Maps are very useful. They help get us from point A to point B and places in-between. Often the places in-between are not planned and are often the best part of the journey. Be open to your silence today and allow it to take you to a new, unplanned place. Let it surprise you. It just might be the best part of your journey.
A place to retreat to
Finding a space to reflect and be silent is important to our practice today. Where do you retreat to? Is it a room, a porch, your basement, office, or maybe your car. Look around — is it peaceful? Does it help you get centered? Consider your space today. What can you add or take away that will support your practice? Peace and Blessings.

Like an Eternity Wide Web
The Silence within stretches in all corners of our hearts
The Silence within is the medium in which we connect to God
The Silence within is the voice of God
The Silence within is a precious gem
Possessed by mystics, dreamers, seekers and Lovers
The Silence within is the geography and the geometry of our Souls
The Silence within is the most precious commodity you can have
The Silence within is total submission into the hands of God
The Silence within is a full display of Love
The Silence within is a must have if you are to be with God
The Silence within is the beginning of Eternity
The Silence within is not a silent act
It is an act of submission to yourself, others and the Source
The Silence within is a fellowship with yourself, others and God
The Silence within is full on worship
Silence is a sacrifice
